Provincial Health Officer Publications
Annual and Special Reports for the Provincial Health Officer. FMS provided design, proofreading, and creation of digital versions with multi-links for the website.
Rocky Mountaineer Train Projects
FMS designs included the Rocky Mountaineer Logo, Train “skin”, Atheist Ad, Scratch & Sniff Brochure, and the Sasquatch. This was an exciting client to have in the studio. The final development of the logo was just the beginning. Design highlights include the dynamic design of the train exterior, learning about trains, and developing a Paint Manual for the train.
The Atheist Ad was an early project for Rocky Mountaineer. The headline played off the hero-beauty shot of the train in the Canadian Rockies. The ad ran in the NY Times, The New Yorker, and internationally. The Scratch & Sniff of fresh pine on the cover of the ‘old school’ field guide was innovatively set into the annual brochure to enhance the travel experience. It also introduced the beloved Sasquatch to future collateral.
Rocky Mountaineer Annual Vacation Brochure
The 2019 edition is shown above. FMS organized and provided the Print Production for 9 years–building efficiencies to control costing. The annual 100+ page brochure included Print management in 3 worldwide locations, was produced in 2 sizes, 6 currencies, and 3 languages, along with an online version. We created a companion Sales Training Presentation in 2 languages. Awarded multiple times internationally for ‘Best Travel Brochure.’
Eat Play Love Cookbook
Another fabulous project for Rocky Mountaineer. This book became a Canadian bestseller and features onboard recipes developed by award-winning chefs. We designed and managed the photo shoot and print production. The book won a Gourmand Award in Paris for Best Travel Cookbook.
Rocky Mountaineer Souvenir Collection
FMS handled design, layout, proofreading, and print production. FMS was on hand at the photo shoot, providing all styling. Many of the individual souvenirs (clothing, diary, candles, pins, and hardcover biography Trip of a Lifetime) were also designed by FMS.
Praise Hemp Animal Supplements
FMS designed packaging and trade collateral for Hempco’s Dog and Horse Hemp Products, beginning with a total refresh of the Praise Hemp logo. This project was one of FMS’ packaging design initiatives.
Tommyco Kneepad Wholesalers
Shown is the Annual Catalogue for Tommyco Kneepads. Tommy is an innovative designer and manufacturer of kneepads and other building/contractor armor. FMS designed and photographed all concept/product images, fully produced with print management. Collateral included a trade-show booth and flyers showcasing product innovations.
SMS Equipment
SMS regularly called on FMS for trade ads, partner/client booklets, and promotional materials. We also provided a myriad of web images and icons for their website. SMS Equipment’s head office is in Edmonton, Alberta. They rent, sell, refurbish, and lease large equipment to builders and developers.
